The castle-fortress of Bouillon is one of the most ancient and interesting remains of feudalism in Belgium
It was built on three rocky outcrops overhanging the Semois river and is characterised by a labyrinth of corridors and huge vaulted halls.
Don't miss the falconry spectacle every day from 1 March to 11 November and every weekend and school holidays.
Take a tour around the educational exhibit on birds-of-prey included in the ticket and the exhibition on all things written: "Scriptura, from plume to PC".
You can also combine your visit to the castle with the Archéoscope Geoffrey of Bouillon and the Museum of the Duchy.
The castle and its history
The fortress, whose origins lie in the 7th century, was established by Geoffrey, leader of the first Crusade (1906).It was occupied by the militia until 1830 and was subsequently modernised under the famous architect Vauban.
